Barbados, a small island nation in the Caribbean Sea, is renowned for its pristine beaches, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality. This tropical paradise offers a unique blend of British colonial heritage and Caribbean charm. This article will delve into the various aspects of Barbados, including its immigration system, cultural attractions, and opportunities for foreigners.

The Immigration Department is dedicated to safeguarding Barbados’s national interest by:

The application of its laws pertaining to immigration and citizenship;

The delivery of dependable, expert, andcompassionate services to its clientele, which includes both domestic andforeign clients; and the pursuit of these goals within a framework that supports sustainable social and economic development and serves as the foundation for government policy and decision-making in the interests of national security.

With proper documentation of their nationality and identity—a valid passport from their home country or an original birth certificate with a national photo identification—citizens of CARICOM member states, the USA, Canada, the UK, and certain Commonwealth nations can travel directly to Barbados and may be admitted for a maximum of three months. All guests must have a ticket for their next or return trip.

According to recent information from the Immigration Department, until they are officially registered with the department as such, CARICOM skilled nationals must arrive in Barbados with return plane tickets. The registration procedure, which can take up to four weeks to finish, entails submitting the following paperwork to the Immigration Department along with a registration form that can be obtained at the BIDC or the Immigration Department:

  • Four photographs
  • Police certificate of character (from home country)
  • Birth certificate
  • Documentary proof of qualifications
  • Letter from employer, where applicable
  • Document certifying citizenship by descent, where necessary
