October: All The 22 Countries Celebrating Freedom In The 10th Month

October can be called a month of Freedom, Independence day is a yearly celebration of a country’s independence or statehood, typically following a significant change in government, the end of a military occupation, or the cessation of membership in another nation or state. Numerous nations celebrate their freedom from colonial rule.

Independence is not a national holiday in every nation. Other important dates are marked in many countries, including Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, New Zealand, Ireland, Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and Turkey.

Nigeria is the first country out of twenty-two nations to observe National Day or Independence Day in the 10th month. Below is a list of the nations along with their national holidays or declarations of independence:

Nigeria’s Independence Day is October 1.

After years of colonial control, Nigeria became a sovereign nation in the 10th month, 1960, when it declared its independence from British rule.

China’s National Day commemorates the People’s Republic of China’s establishment in the same month, in 1949, following a protracted civil war dominated by Mao Zedong’s Communist Party.

4. Independence Day in Palau

Likewise on the 1st day of this month, in, 1994, Palau celebrated its independence as a sovereign state from the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, which was administered by the United States.

5. Independence Day in Tuvalu

As a British colony, Tuvalu became an independent island nation on the same month as Nigeria, 1978, when it officially separated from the United Kingdom.
